Everyone knew that Mu Rulan spoiled her brothers. But only the brothers knew that even though she spoiled them, she never allowed them to overindulge.
Sometimes she was so strict they were afraid of her, and afraid that she wouldn’t want them anymore. That was why nobody in the world could stop the twin brothers, but their sister was definitely the one they obeyed without question.
Their backs were rigid, as though they were wronged or in a temper. Neither of them wanted to turn around, and Mu Rulan didn’t bother coaxing them.
She sat back at her desk with her glasses on to continue working. She answered the phone often and gave out orders, looking like a strong successor.
Her tone was gentle and her voice soft, enough to make your heart melt. It was comfortable to listen to, even when she was scolding someone it was soft like cotton candy.
The twins standing in the back facing the wall were getting upset. They were in a loop, clenching their fists, loosening them, and repeating again. Time passed slowly, but Mu Rulan continued to ignore them. Mu Rulin, still immature but always the more rational of the two, took action.
He turned his back and faced Mu Rulan, his beautiful but childish face slightly wounded. He pouted a little and said, “Sister, don’t be angry. I was wrong.”
At his side, Mu Rusen was angry and immediately scolded in his heart, “Mu Rulin, you bastard! We agreed we were going to let our sister console us!”
Mu Rusen had always been short-tempered and stubborn. He could even sulk for days and nights if he was really angry. But it was evident he didn’t dare throw a tantrum in front of Mu Rulan, afraid the affection she held for him would decrease. He was even terrified that his twin brother might hog all of his sister’s love.
So he followed his brother, turning around to rush with big steps to Mu Rulan and hugging her. To witness such a young boy of 15 years with attractive features and a tall body at 1.7 meters acting like a spoilt child in front of his sister was a sight to see: “Sister, I’m sorry. Don’t be mad, we were just too angry just now, sister~”
Mu Rulin was standing opposite the desk, staring at them without a word. But his gaze turned dark hidden behind his spectacles, his lips held in a straight line.
Mu Rulan became dizzy with all the wiggling from Mu Rusen. She had no choice but to put down her pen and look at her brothers: “Okay, then tell me this. Lan Yiyang just transferred to our school two days ago. What could he possibly have done to offend the two of you to the point that you beat him so badly?”
The moment she brought up the transfer student, Mu Rusen’s face immediately turned dark. “That bastard…”
Mu Rusen continued, “He’s disgusting! You don’t even know what he said – err… Umm… Nothing. He just said a few words that riled us up.” Mu Rusen seemed to realize something in the middle of talking. He felt wronged and glanced up at Mu Rulan, lowering his head and finishing his sentence in a soft tone.
Mu Rulan sighed, bending down to take out the first aid kit from under the table. She stood to dip the cotton in the medicine. It was natural for her to use the other hand and raise Mu Rusen’s chin up.
Only these siblings would be so intimate together. People who didn’t know them would definitely think that they were a couple rather than siblings.
Mu Rusen felt his heartbeat flutter with her sudden actions. “Sister…”
Mu Rulan asked Mu Rusen to sit on the chair. Although her little brother was only one year younger than her, he was already much taller. She could only reach him easily when he sat down.
While Mu Rulan applied medicine to Mu Rusen’s face, she deepened her tone and scolded: “You’re always throwing tantrums. It’s almost the school festival, why don’t you ever consider whether or not fighting is appropriate right now? You even put him in the hospital, you’re just lucky his condition isn’t serious. If it was, mother and father surely wouldn’t let you off the hook… Is it still painful?”
When Mu Rusen heard his sister trying to comfort him, the young boy who always stood in the front lines during every fight with his brother immediately turned into an innocent young boy, winking his eyes to say, “Ouch, sister. It hurts so much, I’m in so much pain. Please blow on it for me.”
Mu Rulan suddenly felt her heart ache, becoming as gentle as possible in her actions, softly blowing on his wound.
Mu Rusen raised his head, looking at Mu Rulan’s face as she applied the medicine. He felt that his sister from this angle was really beautiful. Not only was her temper good, she was also cute. He would constantly think that he should hide his sister away at home forever so no one could take her away in marriage. Whoever wanted to steal her away would have to face him! His sister should only belong to him alone. Even though he was grown up now, he never found his thoughts problematic at all, especially directed at a blood-related sister.
He was so fond of her, but that bastard transfer student – how dare he badmouth her and say in public that he would… on her. Coincidentally, Mu Rulin and he had passed by and overheard the words. Without a second’s hesitation they had immediately pounced onto the transfer student and given him a few good punches. They were ignited in their desire to just tear him apart!
Mu Rulin was quietly standing to the side of the desk while watching this scene, feeling uncomfortable in his heart but he was used to hiding it, so he was able to remain calm.
However, he couldn’t endure what he’d heard earlier that day at all; the moment he heard Lan Yiyang’s words, he wished he could wipe out his very existence! He wouldn’t allow anyone to stain their pure sister, who was so kind.
“Rulin, come here,” Mu Rulan finished applying medicine to Mu Rusen, pushing him away. Mu Rusen was reluctant to stand up, so he glared at Mu Rulin.
Mu Rulin pretended not to see Rusen’s glare, walking toward Mu Rulan without hesitation and sat down easily, pouting his lips loosely and gentling his mouth. Suddenly, he thought of something. “Sis, Sen’s fallen in love.”
Mu Rulan was surprised, while Mu Rusen’s face immediately flamed a hot red and he shouted, “Bastard, what you are saying?!” He took a panicked glance at Mu Rulan; even he himself did not know why he felt such panic.
“You said it yourself. Didn’t you say you were interested in Zhou Yaya last week?”
Zhou Yaya was a transfer student from the next class over who had joined their school just recently. She was like a queen. Although she was young, she had an extraordinary temperament, cold yet noble. When she walked, people could feel the wind around her, which made her seem very classy.
However, she seemed to be dismissive of boys; when Mu Rusen passed her class and gave a low whistle, he only received a cold glance in response. Thus the fifteen-year-old boy was incited by that one glance.
Mu Rusen’s expression was slightly sullen. He fidgeted with his fingers while looking between Mu Rulan and Mu Rulin, the memory of Zhou Yaya’s singular glance filling his mind. He felt that glance was so cold and so sharp, like the glint of the legendary cupid’s arrow, pew… shot him right ino the heart. Maybe… Maybe he’d fallen in love.
“Sister…” He was afraid that Mu Rulan might not like the fact he had started to love at such an early age, although this was considered normal at their prestigious school. But he still cared what she might think of him; if Mu Rulan didn’t like it, he would immediately cut off this intention.
Mu Rulan was surprised for a bit before lifting a smile onto her face: “It’s alright. As long as my little brother is happy, that’s the only thing I care about.”
Mu Rusen was suddenly very moved. He ran past the office chair, standing in front of Mu Rulan to hug her. She gave out so much warmth that he never wanted to let go. He wanted to be spoiled, retain the love she had for him, and receive her pampering forever and always. “Sister…”
“But Zhou Yaya is so popular and known to be an ice queen, I bet Sen can’t even catch her attention,” said Mu Rulin, staring at the hands on Mu Rulan’s waist.
Mu Rusen heard his brothers words and immediately raised his head up to pout at Mu Rulan. “Sister, you need to help me. If not I’ll be embarrassed in front of all my friends.”
Mu Rulan patted his head. “Okay.”
A bright smile immediately appeared on Mu Rusen’s face, as if he had a tail to wag happily. “I knew you’d help me!”
Mu Rulan didn’t say anything, continuing to indulge him and rubbing his head, her smile light, soft, and pure, entrancing all who looked upon her.
Of course Mu Rulan would promise to do anything for him, and give you tenderness and an incomparable love; whatever he needed, she would provide.
——When you wanted to destroy someone, it was best to give him everything he desired, make him rely on you, trust you so completely that he could not live without you.
